About Me

I love beads and sewing (and running and eating and friends and fall and travel other things, too, but this site is about creating!) I have loved beads and sewing for years.

In 8th grade, the Home Economics teacher taught us to cross-stitch and I never stopped.

Christmas stockings are what I make. Started in high school. The quiet, slow act of hand sewing. Eventually, I created my own designs, keeping the stocking format. It’s not about Christmas (however, yay Christmas!). I like the restrictive nature of the canvas and the process of telling a story in the confines of the space. Which makes me a folk artist (with a collection.)

I'll never go back to patterns, because it’s now about stories through scraps of fabric, found treasures, and other things. And, I'm not stuck on holiday themes anymore.  The only rules are to have fun and share something from the heart.
