Love is a Wild Thing
Kacey Musgraves on repeat.
You can’t find it, sitting on the shelf in a store
If you try to hide it, it gonna shine even more.
Even if you lose it, it will find you.
There’s no way to stop it.
Running like the river, Trying to find the ocean, flowers in the Concrete
Climbing over fences, blooming in the shadows, places that you can’t see.
Coming through the melody when the nightbird sings
Love is a Wild thing.
And I had pieces of bright silk that felt like the song. I put them together and made an initial shape of leaves generating from an origination point.
Soon, the design look on a life of it’s own. And the design felt wild, like love. Blooming - hearts, leaves, movement, and mixed shapes.
Love is a Wild Thing.
wild thing story
love is a wild thing.
(kacey musgraves.) this stocking will be wild and full of life. blessings, gratitude, creativity. and i’m starting it over again. after a long break. and it’s not the design from the previous post. fresh, better, more inspired. colorful and optimistic. (climbing over fences, moving in the shadows, places that you can’t see.)

progress
so much done! a couple of creative decisions. i think the leaves might be better as a mix of silk and bead, not just bead. and the flower petals could some outline for definition. thread? and the stamens of thread, too?
LZ made a delicious dinner and Ruth, LZ and I watched Great British Baking Show. Dinner out as a family last night and Pictionary. fun!

what’s next.
a little beading time today after a long run. laurie is strong, just trying to keep up. watched the newly released Eliud Kipchoge sub 2-hour marathon documentary this afternoon. great!
tried the moroccan thread to outline the petals. no go. tomorrow i’ll find a new way and try again! i’ll also unravel the whole things in order to consider the final creative touches and gaps. already have a new idea for the next stocking. that’s unusual so i’ll be ready anew once this is done.
it will be a mexican otomi pattern - i do love all things mexican 🇲🇽.
